Commuters and other travelers pass through the newly opened World Trade Center connecting passageway in New York on Monday, December 19, 2016. The passage, which connects the Chambers Street subway station with the WTC Oculus and further on the PATH station, is a vestige from the original World Trade Center, destroyed in the terrorist attack on Sept. 11, 2001. The ramp and the travertine flooring are original as well as a commemorative door, labeled "MATF1 9-13" indicating the area was searched by the Massachusetts Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team on September 13.
