Several hundred members of the United House of Prayer for All People, a non-denominational Pentecostal church, gather in Harlem in New York on Sunday, August 3, 2008 for a mass baptism. The church, which has held the baptisms on West 115 street since 1937, uses a fire hose to spray the congregation with city water blessed by the church's bishop. The ceremony is accompanied by music played by several brass "shout" bands. (© Frances M. Roberts)
