BLEECKER-BDWY TRANSFER OPENS

MTA Chair and CEO Jospeh J. Lhota rides up a new escalator in the Bleecker Street - Broadway-Laffayette stations at the grand opening of the new transfer in the New York subway on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Because of the quirky nature of the subway system, which were originally three competing companies, various transfers between neighboring stations were never built. The transfer from the IND at Broadway-Lafayette to the uptown IRT Bleecker Street is one of them.
