A $2199 MakerBot Industries "Replicator 2" 3d printer churns out a scanned gnome figure in the MakerBot offices in New York on Friday, September 20, 2013. MakerBot introduced their $1400 MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D scanner which will enable users to scan objects up to 8X8X8 inches and print out duplicates on their Replicator 2 or another brand of 3D printer.
