Activists protest against the proposed Spectra natural gas pipeline in the trendy Meatpacking District in New York on Thursday, September 6, 2012. The proposed natural gas pipeline would travel under the Hudson River and extend underground into the city via Greenwich Village. Spectra recently signed an easement agreement with the Hudson River Park Trust enabling it to drill the tunnel under the park and activist groups have gone to court to nullify the agreement.
