A methane gas collection wellhead in the Fresh Kills Landfill is seen with the Aspen Knolls development  in the Arden Heights neighborhood in the borough of Staten Island in New York on Sunday, March 21, 2010. Originally planned as housing for the Navy the development was sold to the public after Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) in 1995, the Staten Island homeport was closed.
